Soft Power Education has teamed up with www.justgiving.com to make your fundraising as simple as 1 2 3.
What is JustGiving?

JustGiving is a website which enables you to create your own fundraising page for a sponsored event or you can make a one off donation online. You can completely personalise your fundraising page with a photo, personal message, totaliser and much more.
Why are we part of this?
It is a quick, easy and 100% secure way of donating. You can reach friends all over the country and even the world to donate to your event meaning more money for Soft Power. It is secure for you and hassle free for us, plus they automatically claim the Gift Aid on all eligible donations.
Does Soft Power have to pay to belong to JustGiving?
This is a question we are often asked and yes we do. However, we have a very nice supporter who pays the monthly subscription for us so we don't have to worry about it! A small percentage of the monies raised goes to Justgiving to cover their costs but in all it is a great way for our supporters to maximise their fundraising. As a guideline for every £10 donated by a UK tax payer, Soft Power Education will receive between £11.84 and £11.94 depending on the credit card used.

Fundraising Top Tips from JustGiving.com
- Create your JustGiving page with information about why you are fundraising, which charity you are supporting and why it is important to you. Remember to include photos of yourself and the charity
- Put a video of you or your charity (you'll find loads on YouTube) on your JustGiving page - Sponsors love to see as much information as possible and pages with videos raise more.
- Let everyone on Facebook know. Copy your JustGiving page web address into the 'What's on your mind?' box at the top of your News Feed or Profile and Facebook will automatically pull in the first photo from your page. You can add a few words about what you are doing. This will then go to all your friends' news feed, prompting them to donate.
- Change your instant messenger status to include your JustGiving page address and some text that will grab people's attention.
- Put your JustGiving page address in your email signature - check www.justgiving.com/help for instructions.
- Spread the word on Twitter to share your story and Justgiving page with other fundraisers and sponsors. You can even let us know by using @JustGiving. You never know, we may give you a mention if you've got a great message.
- Create flyers by printing your JustGiving page address along with a few words about why you're a fundraiser.
- Set your friends a challenge. For example, if you raise £500 by the end of the week you will dye your hair blue or wax your body. Aim for something that you know will interest your friends.
- Ask for donations instead of birthday or wedding presents. Or ask people to skip a coffee or pint and donate instead.
- Hold a fun event, like a cake sale, party or raffle and ask for donations to your JustGiving page in exchange for a ticket
- Ask you company if they'll match what you raise, or advertise your JustGiving on the company website or intranet
- Remember that on average, 20% of donations are recieved after the event date so remember to send your page to everyone again once you have completed your challenge. Add some extra content to your JustGiving page, like photos from the day or gruelling details about how hard it was.
