Kiresa Primary School is another of the requests from Jinja LC5 to turn a community school into a thriving government school. In 2009 some of the Aston Uni group worked alongside our builders to build a brand new 3 classroom block. This made a huge difference to the school and the pupils who had until this point been learning under trees and in mud huts.
In August 2010 we were then, with the help of our Long Term Volunteers and in particular – Alessio, Marco, Silvia, Valeria, Barbara, Helen, Jill, Emma, Ben, able to paint the three classroom block there.
We hope to be able to return to this school as soon as it has government status to build some additional classrooms.
